Who I Am
Hello and welcome to Lauren and the Story Box, thanks for dropping by!
I'm Lauren Grierson and I am a freelance storyteller, writer and producer of heritage and school workshops in and around London. My client list includes Kew Gardens, Historic Royal Palaces, Museum of London, Museum of London Docklands, The Royal Academy, London Transport Museum, National Trust (Osterley Park and House), Orleans House Gallery, Strawberry Hill House, Shakespeare 4 Kidz and Bigfoot Arts Organisation. I am also a drama teacher and run Let's Make Theatre drama clubs in primary schools and nurseries. This is what I do and I love doing it! I also love adventures, make believe and play (but who doesn't right?!)
I have been fortunate enough to work on very varied projects, from STEM to Shakespeare and everything in between. But, no matter what the subject matter, making learning an immersive, often unexpected and, at times, comical adventure is my ultimate aim. In the end, it is seeing the children's faces light up with excitement and their imaginations bursting that makes me come away happy and feeling very privileged to be doing what I do.
On a more personal note, I also love tea (like REALLY love tea), dislike peanut butter with a passion (yes, really, I can't stand it) and have recently developed an obsession with listening to mum podcasts during my long distance pram walks, usually to the local garden centre soft play (oh, the joys of motherhood!). And on that note, I am also a wife to my lovely husband Ian, mum to my one year old son, Ernie (aka. Captain Chaos) and live with two exceptionally naughty but lovable house rabbits, called Marmalade and Cottontail.
"Lauren is professional, reliable and always performs to the highest standard. To watch Lauren perform stories for a young audience is simply magical, she truly engages and transports everyone onto the adventure with her."

What I Do
My mission is simple, I don't just tell stories, I offer adventures. I bring stories to life by turning them into wholly immersive and interactive experiences. I offer a chance to be transported into the magical world of the story itself. Participants of my storytelling will find that they are the characters within the tale, they are the ones on an enthralling quest with a mission to complete.
I can take any book, exhibition, theme, invention, historical figure or event and create a bespoke, interactive story or script for your organisation. Just let me know what information you would like me to include and I will make it fun and educational for your audience. I have written stories for both children and adults for a wide range of museums, galleries and schools.
I am also an experienced producer of workshops and performances. I can produce sessions of any length or frequency and cater to any audience. I can source props and materials and include craft activities alongside storytelling and drama elements. My format is flexible as I will cater my workshop to your organisational needs.
"Lauren was fantastic from start to finish! I gave her our theme and she came up with great ideas to bring it to life and then the workshops were engaging and fun. The children loved them and were talking about them afterwards. Lauren is highly recommended."
